Our local participation in this world wide event is made possible through NHPleinAir Artists. All members are welcome & encouraged to participate & to "recruit" other artists to join us on location, and all plein air artists in the region are welcome as well!

Art Patrons and collectors and the general public are invited to join the artists on location to watch the creative process and learn more about painting en plein aire, and join us for a reception and to view the completed works on Sunday afternoon.

General Information
WHAT IS THE IPAP WORLDWIDE PAINT OUT?
This fun and exciting event was conceived by Jacq Baldini, founder of IPAP, and NHPleinAir Artists participate locally through IPAP. Each year, on the first weekend in September, IPAP members (and artist friends) hold plein air paint outs in their own local area so that plein air artists around the world are painting "together" in their overlapping time zones. As we begin painting at 10AM on Friday, we will be joining our fellow artists in Europe who have already been painting for several hours, with more artists joining in as the day progresses through the different time zones. We will all be united in the same purpose - preserving the beauty of our local landscape on canvas (or watercolor or pastel paper)!
ABOUT OUR PAINTING LOCATIONS
Fox Point a park in Newington which is normally open to Newington residents only. We have received permission from the Town of Newington to paint there on Friday, and the Town will issue special parking permits for up to 15 artists. The park offers views of Great Bay and has several other interesting features.
Lubberland Creek Preserve a Nature Conservancy property on Great Bay in Newmarket. The TNC Great Bay Office is aware that artists will be on location there. Note that this location has no restroom, but the TNC office will be open between 8:30 and 9:30 on Saturday and artists are welcome to stop in then. Artists should park at the Lubberland Creek Preserve parking lot on the north side of Bay Road, just down the road from the office. There is a public hike at the Preserve on Saturday, so expect a dozen or so spectators!
Downtown Newmarket There will be live music & entertainment and other activities in Newmarket to coordinate with the Paint Out! There is a wealth of subject matter in and around downtown Newmarket from interesting architecture to views of the river and the Falls and several public parking areas. Heron Point, across the river from the Mill Building, affords an excellent view of the Falls. The public parking area near the mill building offers river views and a nice views of buildings on the river. There is also a public boat launch a few miles south on Rte 108 which affords a wonderful marsh view to the east and river view to the west.
